The digital world has offered extraordinary opportunities, but it has also presented significant risks, especially for the younger generation. 65% of young people reported having been victims of violence, of which 63% experienced bullying and 19% cyberbullying. The consequences of these experiences have been devastating: loss of self-esteem, social anxiety, isolation, school difficulties, depression, and eating disorders. To counter these phenomena and promote a digitally aware culture, the project was born "The Wolf in the Net", promoted by the Alexandria Savings Bank Foundation .
An innovative project for online safety
Our goal was to raise awareness and train students, teachers, and families on cybersecurity and cyberbullying. Through an interactive and inclusive approach, we provided practical tools to face the challenges of the digital world with awareness and responsibility. The project involved the entire school community, fostering dialogue between generations and a deep understanding of the risks and opportunities of the Web.
The February 12, at Palatium Vetus, home of the Alexandria Savings Bank Foundation, a press conference was held to launch the project. During the event, the objectives and innovative methodologies behind the initiative were explained in the presence of experts in the field and representatives of educational institutions.
The February 26, "The Wolf in the Net" kicked off at the middle school. Anna Frank of Valencia, involving three second classes of thePaolo and Rita Borsellino Comprehensive Institute. The choice of this target audience was motivated by the desire to intercept a young audience, at a crucial age for acquiring digital skills and monitoring achievement during the school year.
A digital education for the future
Children were among the main users of digital technologies, and it was essential that they gain awareness of the risks associated with cyberbullying and online safety. "The Wolf in the Net" It was proposed to:
- Educate students in the safe and responsible use of technology;
- Provide teachers with innovative teaching tools to meet the challenges of digital education;
- Involve families, strengthening the link between school and home to ensure educational continuity in the family context as well.
The project was distinguished by modern methodologies such as the game thinking and theinteractive learning, which enabled children to address digital security issues in an engaging and practical way. Through Educational video games, escape rooms and simulations, students were able to learn strategies for recognizing and countering dangerous situations online.
Experts serving digital education
The initiative featured three experts, including cybersecurity, psychology, and game thinking, who guided the children through this educational journey:

The role of schools in digital education
Digital education has been an essential component of schooling. In an age when social media and digital platforms are an integral part of everyday life, it was essential that schools play an active role in teaching students how to navigate safely. Through specific training paths, children acquired soft skills that helped them develop a critical sense toward digital content, understand the value of their online identity and prevent dangerous situations.
Teachers, thanks to the project's support, were provided with concrete tools to integrate digital education into their lessons. Teacher training was a key element, as it enabled the transfer of up-to-date knowledge and effective strategies for students to manage their online presence consciously.
A concrete commitment to a secure digital future
The project was part of the civic education and has been made available to all schools in the province of Alexandria thanks to a call sponsored by the Alexandria Savings Bank Foundation. In addition, at the launch, students had the opportunity to view a video message from the Dr. Agostino Ghiglia, Component of the Data Protection Authority, who delved into issues related to online privacy and security.
"The Wolf in the Net" was not only an educational project, but a concrete opportunity to train a generation aware of and prepared to face the challenges of the digital world. We of HRC we were proud to be part of this initiative and to actively contribute to the creation of a safer online environment for all.reaction of a safer online environment for all.
